On Saturday, 13th July 2019, participants arrived Clerk’s Quarters precisely Bongo Square at 7:00am for Youth Who Run the World. We had as itinerary from Bongo Square to Capitol and back.
We started with stretches and followed up with the presentation.
Miss Lyonga aided by Maris Lucia started by talking about the Run the World initiative by Sir Dan Thompson in partnership with Cancer Research UK. She then explained the full details about Youths Who Run the World and it’s journey so far which has been about covering a 2km run and doing a presentation on healthy and active lifestyle specifying that the project has been carried out in: Douala, Limbe, Kribi, and now Buea.
During the presentation, we had a lot of questions on how to live a healthy lifestyle some of which were answered by participants. This session was so interesting and the participants maintain some quietness.
The speaker explained 5 tips of an active lifestyle as proposed by Sir Dan Thompson as coined in the ‘’BEANS” which stands for be active, eat sensibly avoid alcohol, sugary drinks and smoking of any sort and Sleep well. Immediately after the presentation, we proceeded with the run and wrapped up with interviews and group photographs.
