Visit to St. Glory Orphanage

Kids of St. Glory Orphanage - Noela Lyonga Foundation

Volunteers from the Noela Lyonga Foundation arrived at St. Glory Orphanage at 3:00pm on the 13th of June 2020. With warm welcome from Madame Toge Rachael, the chief Guidant of the St Glory orphanage, the team felt so inspired being around the children.

The programme started with a detail presentation about the Noela Lyonga Foundation which was done by a volunteer Sandra Ekane. This was followed by another presentation by another volunteer Sharon Njoh who talked about the importance and power of sharing.  Sharon explained to the kids how they should learn to share knowledge and anything worth sharing that can help another person be a better version of themselves. This presentation was followed by another presentation from Sala Gisele a volunteer at the Noela Lyonga Foundation. Gisele’s presentation was focused on the Power of your smile. She explained that, when you smile, you give a positive arena of joy around you and that she considers smiling as one of the most important things in her life. She quotes that ‘’when you smile, the devil is angry and he will stay away from you and good tidings will keep coming your way.

Our very own friend Elizabeth Esoh who inspired us to make the visit a reality also shared her story and urged the children to consider engaging in any support business they can do that can help them have a source of income even while they are going to school. Miss Lyonga Mwindo Noela, our founder and Chief Executive officially handed over the donated items alongside our team of

volunteers.

Donation St. Glory Orphanage - Noela Lyonga Foundation

As a feedback appreciation message from the Children and their lead guide, they shared with us a brief history of the orphanage. St. Glory Orphanage was created in 2007 and has its authorization to operate from the Regional Delegation of social affairs in Buea. They survive thanks to donations and volunteers who offer support to the children. With a total of 22 children in the orphanage, 20 are students and 2 are not. Prisca is the eldest and she is looking forward to write her GCE Exams. The visit was awesome and the children were happy to see the items brought for them.  Our visit ended with outdoor games made of spelling drills and step movements with wishes. We took Group pictures and departed.
